4. Headlight assembly can assume a wide variety of positions. Use joystick to adjust.
For easiest adjustment, place in indirect position (see figure) before putting on
headlight. While wearing headlight, adjust luminaire downward as desired.
With the output of high intensity light sources, it is possible to convey a large amount of
light energy and to concentrate this energy in a very small area. This may result in
thermal injury to the tissue.
The risk of injury is increased under the following conditions:
1. Prolonged close contact or close stationary viewing of the mucosa or tissue.
2. Using a high intensity light source at high output levels.
3. Using multiple instruments to illuminate the same area.
The following recommendations will reduce the risk of thermal injury:
1. Use the minimum level of illumination necessary for adequate visualization.
2. When possible, avoid close stationary viewing.
3. Minimize exposure time.

LUMINAIRE, RIGID HEADBAND, AND FIBER OPTIC BUNDLE
WARNING

Turn off light source and allow to cool before disconnecting fiber optic
bundle from headlight or light source.
Exterior surfaces of luminaire, rigid headband, and fiber optic bundle can be wiped clean
with any of these solutions:

10% bleach

Cidex, CidexPlus, Cidex 7
•
70% isopropyl alcohol
•
Metracide
•
Wavecide-01
•
10% Wescodyne
•
Mild soap
Indirect Position
Coaxial Position
WARNING
: Do not use headlight at distances closer than 10 inches (25 cm).
Tissue damage or erythema may result.
