4. Security Setup
Select the Security tab to enter the Security Setup screen. This screen provides information
about the passwords and functions for specifying the security settings.
The following modes of security are provided:
Note: The CP3003-SA/CP3003-V provides no factory-set passwords.

Password Description
If ONLY the Administrator’s password is set,
then this only limits access to Setup and is
only asked for when entering Setup.
If ONLY the User’s password is set, then this
is a power on password and must be entered to
boot or enter Setup. In Setup the User will
have Administrator rights.
The password length must be
in the following range:

SETTING DESCRIPTION
No password is
set Booting the system as well as entering the Setup is unsecured.
Only Administrator
password is set Booting the system is unsecured.
For entering the Setup, the Administrator password is required.
Only User pass-
word is set The password is required for booting the system as well as for entering the Setup menu. On
every startup, the user will be asked for the password.
Both User and
Administrator
passwords are set Either the User or the Administrator password is required for booting the system as well as for
entering the Setup menu.
If the User password is entered here, limited access to the Setup is granted. Entering the
Administrator password provides full access to all Setup entries.
