The newest 8 mm movie camera from Canon, the Zoom
250, has a useful 2.5 times zoom lens, electric-eye single­
lens reflex viewfinder, 3-point zone focusing and accom­
modates a lighting unit for indoor and night-time movie
making.

The new Single 8 518 with special cartridge has 5-times
zooming capacity, fade-in, fade-out and overlappings to
obtain “dreamlike” effects by double exposure.

Film Speeds: With tungsten type film, ASA 25-160 (DIN 15-23). With day­
light type film, ASA 16-100 (DIN 13-21).
CCA Filter: Built-in. Corrects colors of tungsten type film when used in
daylight. Automatically cancelled on insertion of daylight type film car­
tridge or manually from outside.
Filming Speed: 18 fps.
Power Source: Three penlight batteries (Stored in Grip). Sufficient power
for 8 cartridges of film under normal temperature.
Zooming: Manual control.
Footage Counter: Automatically resets when the cartridge is taken out.

Shutter Release: Released by turning the shutter lock dial and pulling the
trigger.
Manual Adjustment of Aperture: Manual operation is possible with the
aperture dial and an ND filter.
Film Rewinding: Double exposure and overlapping are possible by using
rewinding crank.
Power System: Film drive and power zooming operated by two micromotors.
Entire zooming is done in approximately 6 seconds.
Power Source: Four 1.5 V penlight (size AA or UM-3) batteries. Sufficient
