Both models are equipped with a precision lens varying in speed according to the model. Choose
from QL 17 (F 1.7), QL 19 (F 1.9). Perfect results are assured every time because of the full-proof
EE system and the simple focusing method. Both models have the wide range of shutter speeds.

Type: 35 mm rangefinder type EE camera.
Lens for QL 17: Canon lens 40 mm F 1.7 with six elements four components.
Lens for QL 19: Canon lens 45 mm F 1.9 with five elements four components.
Shutter: B, 1/4—1/500 in multiple series.
Self-timer: Built-in.
Exposure Meter: Highly sensitive CdS exposure meter. Powered by mercury
battery.
EE Mechanism: Fully coupled exposure meter, shutter and aperture.
Shutter speed priority system.
Manually-Operated Aperture: Possible with combinations of shutter speed
and aperture opening of your choice.
Operating Range of Meter: EV 3.5-17 (ASA 100).

Viewfinder: Double-image superimposing system, coupled rangefinder.
Marked finder with parallax error automatically corrected. Magnification

0.6X. Visible aperture readings and warning marks in the viewfinder.
(In manual photography, the meter needle always remains in the warning
mark area.)
Flash: Directly connected type and automatic adjustment of aperture.
Newly conceived arrangement for Flash Auto system and exclusive speed-
lite unit, Canolite D, incorporated.
Flash Auto System: By merely setting the guide number on the camera
to 14, 20, or to 28, aperture gets automatically adjusted to the distant ring
operation. Shutter button locks Itself when the distance from camera to
the subject is improper for flash photography.
Canolite D: By leaving the aperture ring at AUTO position, electric eye
flash photography is possible with the use of Canolite D. The aperture
gets automatically adjusted and the shutter button locks itself to avoid
improper exposure.
Film Loading: Canon’s unique QL (quick loading) device.
Film Counter: Self-resetting type.
Film Winding: Single operation winding lever type, with the new device
incorporated In the camera which eliminates necessity to release shutter
buttons three or four times and at the same time to release the AUTO
setting while leaving the lens cap on before starting to take pictures.
The film winding operation is coupled to the new film transportation
checker device explained in the following paragraph.
Film Transportation Checker: A new device which enables you to ascertain
through the window that a film Is either being advanced or rewound as
you wind the lever or turn the rewinding crank. Paying your attention to
the film transportation checker window prevents going through the process
of picture taking when for some reasons or other the camera had not been
actually loaded with a new film or when the film had not been properly
fed into the sprocket. The new device also helps you to prevent rewinding
the film completely into the cartridge Including the leader part.
