Getting Help
J Full Restore with Format tormats the hard disk drive and then
restores all the original software.

Formatting the hard disk drive removes all the information on the hard disk. If
you choose this option, you will lose any software you have installed and any
other files you have created since you started to use your computer. This means
you will have to reinstall any applications that were not included with the
computer when you purchased it. If you choose to restore all software titles
without formatting the hard disk drive, you may need to reinstall applications
that were not included with the computer when your purchased it. If you have
any questions on using the System Recovery CD, contact Sony Online Support
(SOS).
To use the System Recovery Utility
^ The CD-ROM drive must be inserted in the computer — not the docking station — to use
the System Recovery CD.
You need to complete the Windows 95 registration process when you use the System
Recovery CD. Make sure you have the product ID number located on the cover of your
"Introducing Microsoft Windows 95" guide. You will need this number to complete the
recovery process.

Insert the Sony System/ Application Recos ery CD in the CD-ROM
drive.

Shut down your computer as described in "Shutting Down Your
Computer" on page 14.

Wait four seconds and turn on your computer.

Click OK to signify you have read and accept the Microsoft End-User
License Agreement.

When the System Recovery menu appears, follow fhe on-screen
insfrucfions fo complefe the recovery process.
^ The recovery process takes between 30 to 50 minutes to complete.
