Getting Help
If your computer does not start from the Recovery CD
1 Slide the power switeli forward and hold it for more than four
seconds to turn off the computer.
2 Turn on the computer while holding down the F2 ke\’. The BIOS
screen appears.
3 Press the Esc key. The Exit screen appears.
4 Select Get Default Value using the cursor keys and then press the
Enter key.
5 Press the Esc key, and then press the Enter key. The computer restarts
from fhe Recoyery CD.
Using the Application Recovery CD
(Models PCG-717C/PCG-719C Only)
^ The following instructions are for models PCG-717C/PCG-719C only. If you have model
PCG-717E or PCG-719E, see the instruaions on page 131.
The Application Recoyery CD allows you to reinstall indiyidual
applications and deyice driyers if they are corrupted or accidentally
erased. Reinstalling an indiyidual deyice driyer or software title may
correct a problem you are experiencing with your computer, and you
may not need to recoyer the entire contents of your hard driye. If you do
need to reinstall all the software titles that shipped with your computer,
use the System Recoyery CD. See "Using the System Recoyery CD
(Models PCG-717C/PCG-719C Only)" on page 126.
^ You must be in Windows to run the Application Recovery CD. The application will not run
from DOS. If you have any questions on using the Application Recovery CD, contact Sony
Online Support (SOS).
