"DISTANCE" and press ENTER.

Note
when you set the distance, the sound cuts off for a moment.
You can vary the distance of each speaker as follow's.
Default adjustments are in the brackets.
■ Front speaker (12ft. 3.7m)
• Front speaker distance can be set in 1 foot (0.3 meter)
steps from 4 to 50 feets (1.2 to 15.2 meters).
• If both speakers are not placed an equal distance
from your listening position, set the distance of the
closest speaker.
■ Center speaker (12ft. 3.7m)
Center speaker distance can be set in 1 foot (0.3 meter)
steps from a distance equal to the front speaker
distance to a distance 4 feets (1.2 meter) closer to your
listening position.
Note
Do not place the center speaker farther away from your
listening position than the front speakers.
■ Rear speaker (10ft. 3.0m)
• Rear speaker distance can be set in 1 foot (0.3 meter)
steps from a distance equal to the front-speaker
distance to a distance 16 feets (4.9 meters) closer to
your listening position.
• If both speakers are not placed an equal distance
from your listening position, set the distance of the
closest speaker.''
Note
Do not place the rear speaker farther away from your
listening position than the front speakers.
Adjusting the speaker volume

while you stop playback, press SET UP and select
"i|')2," then press ENTER.

Set "TEST TONE" to "ON."
You will hear the test tone from each speaker in
sequence.

From your listening position, adjust the value of
"BALANCE" and "LEVEL" using and
ENTER.
During this adjustment, the test tone is emitted
from both speakers simultaneously.

Set "TEST TONE" to "OFF" to turn off the test
tone.

While YOU are pia\ang a disc, you cannot hi-re the lest tone.
You can vary the balance and the level of each speaker
as follows. Default adjustments are in the brackets.
■ Front speaker balance (OdB)
Adjust the balance between the front left and right
speakers (-8dB [L] ~-i-8dB [R], 0.5dB steps).
■ Rear speaker balance (OdB)
Adjust the balance between the rear left and right
speakers (-8dB [L] ~+8dB [R], 0.5dB steps).
■ Center speaker level (OdB)
Adjust the level of the center speaker (-20dB —i-6dB,
0.5dB steps).
■ Rear speaker level (OdB)
Adjust the level of the rear speakers (-20dB ~+6dB,
0.5dB steps).
■ Sub woofer level (OdB)
Adjust the level of the sub woofer (-lOdB —i-6dB, O.SdB
steps). The test tone does not be output from the
subwoofer.
To adjust the volume of all the speakers at one time
U.se the amplifier's volume control.
To return to the default setting
Select the sybol or the item, then press CLEAR.
