D I S C ON N EC T T H E K E YBO AR D C AB LE — Shut down the computer (see
page 18). Disconnect the keyboard cable and check the cable connector for bent
or broken pins.
D I S A BLE T H E NU M ER IC K EY P AD — Press the key to disable the
numeric keypad. Verify that the numbers lock light is not lit.
E N S U RE T H AT W I ND OW S RE CO GN I Z ES T HE DR I VE — Double-click the
My Computer icon. If the floppy drive is not listed, perform a full scan with your
antivirus software to check for and remove viruses. Viruses can sometimes
prevent Windows from recognizing the drive.
C A N NO T S A VE FI LES T O A F L OP P Y DI S K — Ensure that the floppy disk is
not full or write-protected (locked). See the following illustration.

disk to eliminate the possibility that the original floppy disk is defective.
