Removing the Speakers

Remove the I/O cover (see

Remove the computer stand (see

Remove the optical drive (see

5.
Remove the decorative cover (see

Remove the speaker cover (see

7.
Remove the display bezel (see

8.
Remove the back cover (see

9.
Remove the I/O bracket (see

10.
Remove the inverter (see

11.
Remove the system-board shield (see
Removing the System-Board Shield
).
12.
Disconnect the speaker cable from the connector (SPKR1) on the system board. For more information on the location of the speakers connector, see
System Board Components
.
13.
Remove the four screws (two on each speaker) that secure the speakers to the chassis.
14.
Lift the speakers off the chassis.

To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal
surface (such as a connector on your computer).
NOTE:
Make a note of the cable routing before you dislodge the cable.
