You can lock the flash exposure so that the exposure settings are
correctly set regardless of the composition of your subject.
To Release the FE Lock:
Operate a button other than the
button or the control dial.

Turn on the LCD monitor.

Press the button and set it to (flash on).
• If you are using an externally mounted flash, please refer to its
manual for setting instructions.

Focus the camera on the subject on which you
wish to lock the exposure setting.

Press the shutter button halfway.

Press the button.
• The flash fires a pre-flash and the exposure is fixed.

Re-aim the camera to compose the shot as
desired and press the shutter button fully.
The FE lock function is not available when [Flash Mode] is set
to [Manual].
