The following operations are available before movie
recording:
- AF lock: Pressing the
button activates AF lock with the
current conditions.
and the MF indicator display on the
LCD monitor, and you can check the distance to the
subject.
You can cancel AF lock by pressing the
button
again.
- Manual focus (p. 124)
- AE lock, Exposure shift: Press the
button to enable AE
lock. The exposure shift bar appears on the LCD monitor,
and exposure can be changed using the control dial. You
can cancel AE lock by pressing the
button again.
Pressing the MENU button or changing the white balance
settings, My Colors settings or the shooting mode, also
cancels AF lock.

In
mode, the selected power saving option (p. 45)
determines if the LCD monitor turns off or not. You can turn
the LCD monitor on by pressing any button other than the
power button or shutter button.

QuickTime is required to play back movies (Data type: AVI/
Compression method: Motion JPEG) on a computer
(Windows 2000 only).
