To Cancel the Focus-BKT Mode:
Select
(BKT-Off) in Step 1.
See Functions Available in Each Shooting Mode (p. 270).
You can set the exposure and focus separately. This is effective when
the contrast is too strong between the subject and background or when
a subject is backlit.

Make settings.
1. Set the amount of focus position
offset with the

2. Press the

button to broaden or the
button to narrow the focusing
distance from the center.

Shoot the image with manual focus (p. 124).
Locking the Exposure Setting (AE Lock)

Be sure to set the flash to
so that the flash does not fire.
When the flash fires, the FE lock will be used (p. 130).

Turn on the LCD monitor.

Focus on the part of the subject on which you
wish to lock the exposure setting.

Press the shutter button halfway.

Press the button.
• The exposure is fixed.
