3 Installation
3.1 About this chapter
The Installation chapter contains
￭ this overview
￭ a brief set of instructions for the initial installation of the 850 Professio-
nal IC Cation – LP Gradient (see Chapter 3.2, page 12). At each step
you will find cross-references to more detailed installation instructions
for individual components, should you require such aids.
￭ an installation diagram (see Figure 3, page 16), showing a com-
pletely installed instrument.
￭ several chapters with detailed installation instructions for all compo-
nents, including those that are already installed at the time the instru-
ment is delivered.
3.2 Initial installation
Note
A large number of the capillary connections are already connected at
the time the instrument is delivered.
The 850 Professional IC Cation – LP Gradient is supplied the same way as
an isocratic instrument, i.e. it can be put into operation with minimum
effort for usage with only one eluent. Carry out the following steps:

1 Setting up the instrument
See Chapter 3.4, Page 17.
2 Installations on the rear of the instrument
￭ Remove handle and rollers (see Chapter 3.6.1, page 19).
￭ Place the detector in the instrument and connect it (see manual
of the detector).
￭ Remove transport locking screws (see "Removing transport lock-
ing screws", page 22).
