Installation of the low pressure gradient
The installation of the 850 Professional IC – Anion – MCS – LP Gradient
must be adjusted slightly in order to be operated as a low pressure gradi-
ent system. The following installation instructions list the necessary work
steps in brief. At each step you will find cross-references to more detailed
installation instructions for individual components, should you require
such aids.
Installing the low pressure gradient
1 Expanding the instrument to low pressure gradient
■
Loosen the 6.1834.090 connection tubing (1-16) from the output
of the eluent degasser.
■
Dismount the coupling (21-9) and pump head inlet capillary
(21-7) of the high pressure pump.
■
Use the short pressure screw to tightly screw the 6.2758.020 gra-
dient mixing coil directly onto the input of the high pressure
pump, (see Chapter 3.12.2, page 43) and the longer pressure
screw to screw it tightly to the output of the mixing valve (see
"Connecting mixing coil for low pressure gradients", page 40).
■
Screw on the 6.1834.120 connection tubing to the output of the
eluent degasser (see "Connecting the eluent degasser", page
37) and connect with input A of the mixing valve (see "Connect-
ing connection tubings", page 41).
■
Equip two 6.1834.080 eluent aspiration tubings (see "Assembling
eluent aspiration tubing", page 33) and screw tightly to the elu-
ent degasser inputs in the low pressure gradient (see "Connecting
the eluent degasser", page 37).
