Installing Internet Information Services
Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) is provided with Windows XP Professional
and Windows Server 2003. However, it is not installed by default. You must install this
software on the workstation before installing FactoryTalk AssetCentre Machine Edition
software.
You may want to run Windows Update to make sure you have the most recent IIS patches
before proceeding.
To install IIS:
1. Log on to the workstation computer as an administrator (or a user with administrative
privileges).
2. Click Start > Settings > Control Panel to display the Windows Control Panel.
3. In the Control Panel, open Add or Remove Programs.
4. In the Add or Remove Programs window, click the Add/Remove Windows
Components icon. This starts the Windows Components Wizard.
5. In the Windows Components Wizard, select Internet Information Services (IIS),
and then click Details. Make sure the following boxes are selected.
