Step 2. Define the ControlNet bridge module in your project’s I/O Configuration folder. To do this:
a.
Use the right mouse button to click on the I/O Configuration folder.
b.
From the pop-up menu, select New Module.
c.
From the Select Module Type dialog box, choose the ControlNet bridge of the type (1756-CNB or
1756-CNBR) and series that you are using, then click OK.
d.
In the Module Properties dialog box, enter the name of the ControlNet bridge and indicate its
position in the ControlLogix chassis (where 0 indicates the left-most slot). Fill in the Revision and
Electronic Keying fields as appropriate for your application.
e.
Click Finish.
Step 3. In the I/O Configuration folder, use the right mouse button to click on the ControlNet bridge, and select
New Module from the pop-up menu. The Select Module Type dialog box displays the various
ControlNet devices known to RSLogix 5000.
Note: The WebPak 3000 ControlNet Communication Option board simulates a 1771-ACN ControlNet
board. The WebPak 3000 drive appears as a 1771 rack I/O port to ControlNet. By using this
configuration, ControlNet is able to access all the status and control words in the WebPak 3000 drive
and perform scheduled messaging.
Step 4. From the Select Module Type dialog box, select 1771-ACN15 or 1771-ACNR15, depending on
whether or not you are using redundant media, then click OK. The Module Properties dialog box
appears requesting information about the ControlNet module you are using.
Step 5. Enter the information in each of the fields of the Module Properties dialog box as shown in table 3.
Step 6. When you have completed entering all the of the information, click Next. The next Module Properties
dialog box in the configuration sequence appears.

In this field:
Enter this information:
Name
Give the WebPak 3000 a name that is unique within your project. You will
use this name to direct I/O and explicit messages to the WebPak 3000.
Description
Enter a more detailed description of the WebPak 3000 drive’s purpose,
location, etc., if desired.
Comm Format
Select Rack Optimization.
Node
Enter the ControlNet address of the WebPak 3000 drive you wish to use.
Input Size
Enter the number of words of drive feedback data that you want the
programmable controller to receive from the drive (1 to 8). Refer to
section 4.2.3 of the ControlNet Network Communication Option board
manual (D2-3425-2) for information about the type of data that is sent.
Output Size
Enter the number of words of drive reference data that you want the
programmable controller to send to the drive (1 to 8). See section 4.2.2 in
the ControlNet Network Communication Option board manual (D2-3425-2)
for information about the type of data that is sent.
Electronic Keying
Select Disable Keying. Note that the Revision option will become grayed
out.
