Installing the Unit Load
Ground Connectors

See Figure 2 when installing the unit load ground connectors.

1. If a vertical bus was installed, replace the unit support pans.

2. Attach the unit load ground connectors to the vertical bus at the first

hole above the unit support pans. Use 1/4-20 x 1/2” thread-forming
screws to bolt the connectors in place.

NOTE: SC-I units with the unit load ground connector will also have a 1/
4-20 x 5/8” hex head screw, 1/4” lock washer, and 1/4-20 hex nut. These
should be used instead of the thread-forming screw if an older version of the
vertical bus, with clearance holes, is in the section. Torque the screws to 50
lb.-in. (5.7 N-m).

3. Bolt the #14 - #4 AWG lug to the unit load ground connector with the

1/4-20 x 5/8” hex head screw, 1/4” lock washer, and 1/4-20 hex nut.
Assemble as shown in Figure 2.

4. Replace all units and the horizontal wireway cover.
