Preparation

1. Verify parts list (See Figure 1 and Figure 2)

2. If only unit load ground connectors are being installed:

Remove the units that need the unit load ground connectors. For details
on unit removal, refer to Publication 2100-IN014x-EN-P, Installing
Bulletin 2100/2400 Units with Vertical Operating Handles,
and/or
Publication 2400-IN007x-EN-P, Installing Bulletin 2400 Units with
Horizontal Operating Handles.
Skip to Installing the Unit Load Ground
Connectors.

If a vertical bus and unit load ground connectors are being installed:
Remove all units and unit support pans from the section in which the
vertical bus will be mounted. For details on unit removal, refer to
Publication 2100-IN014x-EN-P, Installing Bulletin 2100/2400 Units with
Vertical Operating Handles,
and/or Publication 2400-IN007x-EN-P,
Installing Bulletin 2400 Units with Horizontal Operating Handles.

3. Determine the horizontal ground bus location: top, bottom, or both.

Remove the corresponding horizontal wireway cover.

NOTE: For each MCC with horizontal ground bus in the top and in the
bottom, decide which location is most convenient for splicing the vertical bus,
and remove that wireway cover.

Installing the Vertical Bus

See Figure 1 and Figure 2 when installing the vertical bus.

1. One end of the vertical bus has a slotted hole (oblong hole). Insert that

end through the right front hole in the horizontal wireway baffle.

NOTE: If there is a knock-out piece instead of a hole, use a prybar or a
hammer to remove it.

2. Position the vertical bus to the right of the six (6) tabs on the right side

of the red molded vertical bus cover. Line up the holes in the vertical
bus with the holes in the tabs.

3. Use six (6) 1/4-20 x 1/2” thread-forming screws to bolt the vertical bus

to the tabs. Insert the screws from the left side of the tabs. Torque the
screws to 50 lb.-in. (5.7 N-m).

4. Connect the vertical bus to the horizontal ground bus with the L-shaped

splice link (Figure 1). Use two (2) 1/4-20 x 1/2” thread-forming screws
to bolt the splice link in place. Torque the screws to 50 lb.-in. (5.7 N-m).
