• The humidity of the ambient air must not exceed specified limits and must

avoid condensation.

• In dry environments, static charges build up easily. Proper grounding of the

equipment through the ac power cord helps to reduce static discharges,
which may cause shocks and damage electronic components.

• The enclosure or cover must remain in place at all times during operation.

The cover provides protection against high voltages inside the product and
inhibits radio-frequency emissions that might interfere with other equipment.

• For VESA mounting, the installation must provide sufficient mechanical

stability to minimize the effects from vibration and shock. The mounting
means must be firmly attached to the supporting surface using the
appropriate hardware.

• Review the panel and rack-mounting types and product dimensions before

installation. Refer to the VersaView Light Industrial Monitors Installation
Instructions, publication 6176M-IN001.

• For panel mounting, cut supporting panels to specifications before

installation. Take precautions so metal cuttings do not enter components
already installed in the panel. Supporting panels must be at least 14 gauge to
be sure of proper sealing against water and dust and to provide proper
support.

• For rack mounting, the 1950M monitor installs directly into a standard 48 cm

(19 in.) rack. Adapters are required to install the 1550M and 1750M monitors
in a rack. For details on mounting the monitors in a rack, refer to the
installation instructions that ship with each rack adapter. The height and
depth of the cabinet must accomodate the panel height and depth of the
monitor. Allow minimum clearances for cables and airflow.

Pre-installation Procedure

Perform this pre-installation procedure before installing the mounting clips.

1. Turn off the monitor and all peripherals connected to it, if necessary.

2. For panel mounting:

a. Prepare a panel cutout and cut the panel opening using appropriate

cutout dimensions.

b. Verify that the sealing gasket is properly positioned on the monitor.

c. Place the monitor on the panel cutout.

For rack mounting:

a. Prepare a rack adapter if installing a 1550M and 1750M monitors.

b. Position the monitor in the rack adapter or rack.
