The adapter is not
powered.
• Securely connect the adapter to the drive
using the ribbon cable.
• Apply power to the drive.
Flashing
Red
The adapter has failed the
firmware test.
• Clear faults in the adapter.
• Cycle power to the drive.
• If cycling power does not correct the
problem, the parameter settings may
have been corrupted. Reset defaults and
reconfigure the module.
• If resetting defaults does not correct the
problem, flash the adapter with the latest
firmware release.
Solid
Red
The adapter has failed the
hardware test.
• Cycle power to the drive.
• Replace the adapter.
Flashing
Green
The adapter is operational,
but is not transferring I/O
data.
• Place the scanner in RUN mode.
• Program the controller to recognize and
transmit I/O to the adapter.
• Configure the adapter for the program in
the controller.
• Normal behavior if no DPI I/O is enabled.
Solid
Green
The adapter is operational
and transferring I/O data.
• No action.

The adapter is not powered
or adapter is not connected
properly to the network.
• Securely connect the adapter to the drive
using the Internal Interface cable.
• Correctly connect the RS-485 cable to the
DF1 plug.
• Apply power to the drive.
Flashing
Green
The adapter is properly
connected, but is not
communicating with any
devices on the network.
• Place the controller in RUN mode, or apply
power to the peer device that will send I/O.
• Program a controller or peer device to
recognize and transmit I/O to the adapter.
• Configure the adapter for the program in the
controller or the I/O from the peer device.
Solid
Green
The adapter is properly
connected and
communicating on the
network.
• No action required.
Flashing
Red
A network connection has
timed out.
• Place the scanner in RUN mode, or apply
power to the peer device that will send I/O.
• Check the amount of traffic on the network.
