INTENDED USE
The MR Hei-End is a safety magnetic stirrer with a heating function, suitable for non-
monitored operation. The Hei-End is a magnetic stirrer featuring a hotplate function. It is
designed for use in chemical and biological laboratories of industrial enterprises,
universities, schools and pharmacies.
The instrument is designed to heat substances to a specified temperature and/or mix them
through the action of a magnetically linked stirring rod in a vessel.
To ensure maximum service life, observe the specified ambient conditions (temperature
and humidity) and ensure that the instrument is not exposed to a corrosive atmosphere.
SAFETY INSTALLATION ON THE DEVICE
Function of the safety switching-off facility:
2 independent, temperature-measuring sensors are located in the hotplate. One serves
the processor-driven control of the hotplate. The other serves the analog safety circuit
switching off all the poles.
Criteria for the safety switching-off function (heating OFF):
 The temperature set for the hotplate (reference value) is exceeded by the set safety
temperature (max. 25°C) (see chapter 9.2).
 The measured temperature of the hotplate (actual value) is higher than 360°C
 Sensor breakage or short circuit in the temperature sensor of the safety circuit
 Sensor breakage or short circuit in the temperature sensor of the control circuit
 The µ-controller is affected in the program sequence
 Sensor breakage or short circuit in in saftey circuit of external temperaure sensor
 Sensor breakage or short circuit in in control circuit of external temperaure sensor
SET-UP
1 Unpacking
Unpack the instrument with care. Inspect for damage and report such damage or missing
parts to your supplier right away.
2 Setting up the instrument
Place the instrument on a solid, horizontal surface. Keep the area around the instrument
clear of other items.
