4.8. LCR Number Normalising

Speaking of the LCR operations, we also mentioned number modifications

before and after the routing process – the so-called normalising. Normalising
means conditioned transformations of the called and/or calling numbers into a
unified format, which facilitates definition of the routing rules.
The normalising rule is determined by the following three parameters:

1) Normalising type – defines at which process stage (input/output)

and for which numbers (called/calling) normalising should be
used.

2) Condition – transformation is only applied to numbers that meet

a condition. The condition is specified by a prefix – a string that
the number starts with. The prefix is separated automatically and
the remaining part of the number is transformed only.

3) Transformation rule – enables to modify a number by removing

a certain number of characters from the number beginning, or
adding a new prefix.

To set the normalising rules, use the Normalising item in the Least Cost

Router (LCR) menu in the Telephony services group tag. The initial screen is a list
of created normalising rules.
