Fault
Check
Cause
Solution
Cylinder piston moves
slowly or jerkily when
activated
Are the hoses
connected
properly?
Air in the
hydraulic system
Bleed the pump system
(see operating instructions
for hydraulic power packs)
Does the pump unit
work?
Pressure in control
table OK? Read
the pressure gauge
Bleeding/depressurising
the control table (actuating
the pressure relief valves
etc., see Control Table
operating instructions)
Visual check of
hydraulic oil
Hydraulic oil too
viscous because
of ambient
temperature.
Replace the hydraulic oil
by oil with the relevant
viscosity
Device doesn’t
perform at its given
power
Hydraulic fl uid level
in the supplying
pump adequate?
Insuffi cient
hydraulic fl uid in
the pump
Top up hydraulic fl uid,
deaerate
Check operating
pressure of driving
hydraulic unit
Pressure supply
has too low
pressure
If possible, increase
max. operating pressure
on the hydraulic unit to
max. operating pressure
of the cylinder or use
another hydraulic unit with
suffi cient max. operating
pressure.
Check device
Device defective
Remove the device from
service and repair it (have
it repaired)
Hoses cannot be
coupled
Pressurized
Set hydraulic pump to
pressureless circulation
Coupling
defective
Coupling must be replaced
immediately
Hydraulic fl uid leak
on the hoses or the
fi ttings
Are the hoses
defective?
Leak, possible
damage
Replace hoses
