Installing WebObjects
Mac OS X Server includes a limited deployment license for Apple’s WebObjects application
server, the leading technology for deploying network applications across corporate intranets
or the World Wide Web. For this release, the commercial version of Mac OS X Server also
includes the full suite of WebObjects development tools.
If you intend to deploy a WebObjects application, follow the instructions in the next section,
“Installing WebObjects Deployments.” If you will be creating such applications, follow the
instructions in “Installing Developer Tools” on page 18.
Installing WebObjects Deployments
To install WebObjects Deployments, follow these steps:

Start up your computer in Mac OS X Server and log in as the Administrator (“root”).

Insert the Developer CD into your computer’s CD-ROM drive.

If necessary, double-click the CD icon to open its main window.

Double-click the Mac_OS_X_Server folder.

Double-click the WebObjectsDeployment.mpkg icon.

In the Package Selection dialog box, click Install.

If the Installer asks for your serial number, enter it in the text field and click OK.
The product serial number is on the CD envelope, in the format “A-999-AAA-999-AAA-999-
AAA-999-AAA-999”.

When installation is complete, quit the Installer and restart your computer.
