z To change the width of the seam allowance

(The needle position), adjust the stitch width.

Using the 1/4 inch quilting foot

If the 1/4 inch quilting foot is used, seams can be
sewn with a seam allowance of 6.4 mm (1/4
inch).

Baste or pin along the seam allowance of the
fabric that you wish to piece together.

Attach the 1/4 inch quilting foot.

foot" (page 37).

Align the mark at the upper edge of the 1/4
inch quilting foot with the upper edge of the
fabric.
Align the right edge of the fabric with the right
edge of the narrow part of the 1/4 inch quilting
foot.

When sewing with a seam allowance, align the
left edge of the narrow part of the 1/4 inch
quilting foot with the fabric edge.

a Seam (3.2 mm (1/8 inch))

Start sewing.

When the end of the stitching is reached, stop
the sewing machine.
Sew until the mark at the lower edge of the 1/4
inch quilting foot aligns with the lower edge of
the fabric.
