Machine actions
Causes
Solutions
The machine does not switch on.
The machine is not plugged and/or the
power button is positioned on “0”.
Plug the machine and/or switch the
power button to “I”.
Coff ee is not hot enough.
The cups are cold.
Preheat the cups with hot water.
Cup-warming surface deactivated
Activate the cup-warming surface and
wait for the cups to warm.
Coff ee has not enough crema.

The blend is unsuitable, coff ee is not
freshly roasted or the grind is too
coarse.
Change coff ee blend or adjust the grind
as explained in section "Adjusting the
Coff ee Grinder".
The machine takes a long time to
warm up or the amount of water
dispensed from the wand is too
little.
The machine circuit is clogged by
limescale.
Descale the machine.
Bubbles form at the Cappuccina-
tore spout while dispensing milk.
The tube fi ttings are not connected
properly or are not completely inserted
in the Cappuccinatore and/or Thermos.
Insert the suction tube completely in the
Cappuccinatore and/or Thermos (if used).
Steam comes out of the Cappuc-
cinatore when the Thermos is
connected and/or when sucking
milk.
There is no milk in the Thermos and/or
container any more.
Check for milk presence. If necessary, fi ll
in the Thermos again or replace the milk
container with a new one.
Thermos internal tube is not present.
Install the tube in the Thermos lid.
The Brew Group cannot be
removed.
The Brew Group is out of place.
Turn the machine on. Close the service
door. The brew group automatically
returns to the initial position.
The coff ee grounds drawer is inserted.
Remove the coff ee grounds drawer before
removing the brew group.
The machine grinds the coff ee
beans but no coff ee comes out.

The Brew Group is dirty.
Clean the Brew Group ("Brew Group"
section).
The dispensing spout is dirty.
Clean the dispensing spout.
Coff ee is too weak.

Too low dose
Adjust the amount of coff ee to be ground.
Coff ee is brewed slowly.

The coff ee grind is too fi ne.
Change coff ee blend or adjust the grind
as explained in section "Adjusting the
Coff ee Grinder".
The Brew Group is dirty.
Clean the Brew Group ("Brew Group"
section).
Coff ee leaks out of the dispensing
spout.
The dispensing spout is clogged or in
the wrong position.
Clean the dispensing spout and its holes.
Position the dispensing spout correctly.
Note: These problems can be considered normal if the coff ee blend has been changed or if the machine has just
been installed.
