General
Symptom
Possible cause
• When a button is pressed, the unit
does not respond.
• Set the unit to the power stand-by mode and
then turn it back on.
• No sound is heard.
• The volume level is set to”0”.
• The headphones are connected.
Cd player
Symptom
Possible cause
• Playback does not start.
•The disc is loaded upside down.
• Playback stops in the middle or is not
performed properly.
• The disc does not satisfy the standards.
• The disc is distorted or scratched.
• Playback sounds are skipped or stopped in
the middle of a track.
• The unit is located near excessive vibrations.
• The disc is very dirty.
• There is condensation inside the unit.
Radio
Symptom
Possible cause
• The radio makes unusual noises
continuously.
• The unit is placed near the TV or computer.
• The FM aerial is not placed properly.
• Move the aerial away from AC power lead if it is
located nearby.
Cassette deck
Symptom
Possible cause
•Cannot record
• The erase-prevention tabs are not removed.
• Cannot record tracks with proper sound
quality.
• Cannot erase completely.
• Check quality and type of tape.
• You cannot record on a metal or CrO tape.
• Sound skipping.
• Check if there is any slack?
• Cannot hear tremble.
• Check if the tape is scratched.
• Sound fluctuation.
• Check if the capstan, pinch roller and the head
is dirty.
• Cannot remove the tape.
• If a power failure occurs during playback, the
head remain engaged with the tape. Do not open
the compartment with great force.
Condensation
Sudden temperature changes, storage or operation in an extremely humid environment may cause
condensation inside the cabinet.
Condensation can cause the unit to malfunction. If this happens, leave the power on with no disc in
the unit for about hour. Wipe off any condensation on the transmitter with a soft cloth.
If trouble occurs
When this product is subjected to strong external interference (mechanical shock, excessive static
electricity, abnormal supply voltage due to lightning, etc.), it may cause malfunction.
If such a problem occurs, do the following:
. Set the unit to the stand-by mode and turn the power on again.
2. If the unit is not restored in the previous operation, unplug and plug in the unit, and then turn the
power on.
