Product Familiarisation Intended Use
Petrol chainsaw for medium-duty domestic gardening tasks, such as felling small trees,
cutting logs and firewood.
WARNING: This chainsaw is ONLY designed for cutting wood, and must not be used with
other materials.
Unpacking Your Tool
• Carefully unpack and inspect your tool. Fully familiarise yourself with all its features
and functions
• Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If any parts are
missing or damaged, have such parts replaced before attempting to use this tool
Before Use
Assembling the chainsaw
WARNING: Wear cut-proof gloves when assembling the chainsaw, to avoid injury.
1. Disengage the chain brake by pulling the Front Hand Guard (3) towards the Front
Handle (4) until you hear a ‘click’ sound
2. Loosen the Guide Bar Nuts (17), using the supplied Chainsaw Combination Wrench
(26). Remove the Guide Bar Nuts and take off the Chain Cover (16)
3. Install the Bumper Spikes (18) to the appropriate mounting holes in the engine block,
using the two supplied Socket Head Cap Screws (28) and tighten with the supplied
Hex Key (25)
4. Gear the Saw Chain (2) to the Sprocket (29) (pay attention to the correct chain
rotation direction, as indicated in Fig. A), fit the Guide Bar (1) on to the two Guide Bar
Bolts (30), and fit the Saw Chain around the nose of the Guide Bar
Note: Ensure the
Saw Chain (2) sits
inside the grove of
the Guide Bar and
moves freely around
the Sprocket (29) and
Guide Bar (1) when
turned by hand.
5. Adjust the position of the Chain Tensioner Screw (31) to fit the lower hole inside the
Guide Bar
6. Refit the Chain Cover and tighten the Guide Bar Nuts finger tight
7. Adjust the chain tension by turning the Chain Tensioner Screw in a clockwise
direction, until the chain sits snug to bottom of the Guide Bar
8. Tighten both Guide Bar Nuts firmly (12-15Nm)
9. Check for smooth rotation of the Saw Chain. Loosen the Guide Bar Nuts and readjust
the Chain Tensioner Screw, if required
Note: A new saw chain will expand when first used. Check and readjust chain tension
frequently, as a loose chain can easily derail, and incorrect chain tension leads to
premature wear, damage and encourages dangerous kickback.
Preparing 2-stroke mix
Note: This chainsaw is powered by a 2-stroke engine that requires a petrol/oil mixture
as fuel.
WARNING: ALWAYS use dedicated 2-stroke oil. DO NOT use regular engine oil for 2-stroke
mix.
1. Use the supplied 2-stroke Fuel Mixing Bottle (27) to measure the required amount of
oil (see mixing chart Fig. B)
WARNING: DO NOT pour oil directly into the Fuel Tank (9). The 2-stroke mix needs to
be prepared and thoroughly mixed in a separate container, prior to being filled into the
chainsaw.
2. Pour the required amount of unleaded petrol into the Fuel Mixing Bottle, close and
shake until thoroughly mixed
Note: 2-stroke mix must not be stored long-term. ONLY mix the amount required for
immediate consumption. Refer to the ‘Storing Fuel’ section for further information.
