SYMPTOM PROBLEM TEST SOLUTION
Smoke or smell
coming from the
burner/appliance. Build up of dust or dirt on
appliance. - Clean the appliance
Foreign material in burn
pot / burner. - Clean burn pot / burner
Incorrect fuel being used - Use only denatured ethanol
Appliance was just turned
off. - The smell only lasts for a short period of time.
Flame is very
active going from
side to side. Draft blowing on the
fl ame. (ie. Ceiling fan,
open window etc.) - Remove any air infl uence or relocate the appliance
when cool.
- People walking too close to the appliance. Relocate
to a low traffi c area when cool.
Flames will not
extinguish when
turned off. Overfi lled burn pot /
burner. - Fill to appropriate level.
- Allow fuel to burn out completely.
Flame diverter pulled too
slowly, allowing vapour to
build up and burn through
the cracks. - Open the fl ame diverter, allow the fl ame to settle and
then close with a faster motion.
- Allow fuel to burn out completely.
Foreign material
obstructing fl ame diverter,
not allowing it to close. - Allow fuel to burn out completely.
- Clean burner.
Burner won’t light. Insuffi cient fuel. - Fill to appropriate level.
Fuel is too cold. - Allow some time for it to warm up.
Flame diverter is not fully
open. - Open fl ame diverter completely.
Incorrect fuel being used - Use only denatured ethanol.
Spilled fuel Spilled fuel - Remove all ignition sources.
- Clean using an absorbant cloth to prevent ignition.
Dispose of cloth in a safe manner and keep away
from the appliance and ignition sources.
- Ventilate where spill occured.
- Only light the appliance when 100% sure spill has
been cleaned up.
TURN OFF THE APPLIANCE COMPLETELY AND LET IT COOL BEFORE SERVICING. ONLY A
QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSON SHOULD SERVICE OR REPAIR THE APPLIANCE.
