Installing the software
Install the “Digital Voice Editor” Software in your computer’s hard disk,
etc.
Note
Do not connect the IC recorder to the computer before installing the Software
(page 48).

Turn on your computer and start up Windows.
Notes
• Be sure to close all running programs before installing the software.
• When you use the Windows 2000 Professional system, log on the system as
“Administrator” before installing the software.
• When you use Windows XP Professional or Windows XP Home Edition, log
on the system as a “Computer administrator” account-type user before
installing the software. If you want to check the current account type, open the
[User Accounts] control panel and then check the account type information
displayed below the user name.

Insert the supplied CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive.
The installer automatically starts up and the following display
appears.
If the installer does not start up, double-click [DVE setup. exe.] in the
[English] folder.

Follow the displayed instructions.
When you use Windows XP Professional or Windows XP Home
Edition, a “Software Installation” dialog box may appear during
installation. In this case, click [Continue Anyway].
When the [Restart] dialog box appears, click [OK] to restart the
computer.
Now the installation is completed.
