Setting the Bluetooth™ function (for Bluetooth™ built-in models only)
Viewing/Customizing Bluetooth™ information
When the Bluetooth™ function is enabled, the following items are displayed
on the
Bluetooth Preferences
screen:
You can change your device name cache settings by tapping the Menu
icon on the
Bluetooth Preferences
screen.

Enable device name cache

Disable device name cache
.
Device name
You can enter a name for your CLIÉ handheld. A device
name is required for each CLIÉ handheld to be identified.
You can display the name setup window by tapping the
square box.

: Another Bluetooth™ compatible device can turn on
your CLIÉ handheld automatically and detect your CLIÉ
handheld as a target Bluetooth™ compatible device when
your CLIÉ handheld is turned off. (The Bluetooth LED
blinks while this feature is enabled.)

Device Address
You can display the device address (identification number
of Bluetooth™ device) of your CLIÉ handheld.
The device address cannot be edited.
Enable device name
cache
The list of device names registered on your CLIÉ
handheld is displayed. The most current device names
might not be displayed. (The name list will be updated
after you connect to the Bluetooth™ compatible device.)
Disable device name
cache
Another Bluetooth™ compatible device will be detected
whether or not that device name is registered on your
CLIÉ handheld. Discovery will be slower, but the most
current device names will be displayed.
