This option determines the slowest shutter
speed available when using front- or rear-
curtain sync or red-eye reduction in
programmed auto or aperture-priority auto
exposure modes (regardless of the setting
chosen, shutter speeds can be as slow as 30 s
in shutter-priority auto and manual exposure modes or at flash
settings of slow sync, slow rear-curtain sync, or red-eye reduction
with slow sync). Options range from
1
/
60
s (1/60 s) to 30 s (30 s).
If On is selected when the camera is being
used with an optional flash unit that supports
the Nikon Creative Lighting System (CLS;
0 187), the flash unit mounted on the
camera and any CLS-compatible remote flash
units will emit a modeling flash when the
camera Pv button is pressed (
0 119). No modeling flash is emitted
if Off is selected.
Choose the setting or settings bracketed when auto bracketing
(
0 136) is in effect. Choose AE & flash (j) to perform both
exposure and flash-level bracketing, AE only (
k) to bracket only
exposure, Flash only (
l) to perform only flash-level bracketing, WB
bracketing (
m) to perform white balance bracketing (0 141), or
ADL bracketing to perform bracketing using Active D-Lighting
(
0 145). Note that white balance bracketing is not available at
image quality settings of NEF (RAW) or NEF (RAW) + JPEG.
