Principle Functions of the Controls

Control
Main Function
A
Mode dial
Change the shooting mode.
Zoom control
Rotate toward
g (i) (telephoto zoom position)
to zoom in, and rotate toward
f (h) (wide-
angle position) to zoom out.
Rotary multi selector
• While the shooting screen is displayed:
Display the setting screen for
m (flash mode)
by pressing up (
H), for n (self-timer) by
pressing left (
J), for p (macro mode) by
pressing down (
I) and for creative slider or
o (exposure compensation) by pressing
right (
K).
• While the setting screen is displayed: Select
an item using
H, I, J or K, or by rotating
the rotary multi selector; apply the selection
by pressing the
k button.
d (menu) button
Display and hide the menu.
Shutter-release button
When pressed halfway (i.e., if you stop pressing
when you feel resistance slightly): Set focus and
exposure.
When pressed all the way (i.e., if you press the
button all the way): Release the shutter.
b (e movie-record) button
Start and stop movie recording.
