Installations

Installing a Standalone Hub
To install a standalone hub, do the following:
1.
Place the hub on a smooth surface.
2.
Connect the power adapter DC jack to the hub and plug the adapter
into an AC outlet.
3.
Connect workstations to the hub using Category 5 UTP/STP cabling.
Connect the RJ-45 connector to a port on the hub, then connect the
other end of the RJ-45 connector to the Fast Ethernet adapter in
the workstation.
Note
Distance between hub and workstation cannot exceed 100 meters
(328 ft.)
4.
Set the Uplink switch to MDI-X for normal use.
5.
Connect each additional device (up to four) on your network following
the previous steps. Figure 4 shows a standalone hub configuration.
