This chapter gives you instructions for installing SyncThru™ Admin 5.

Installation requirements
System requirements
• MIB information (See "MIB reference" on page 89).
• SyncThru™ Admin 5 can manage 5000 devices without any loss of performance. If you manage more than 5000
devices, SyncThru™ Admin 5 may perform slower.
Network requirements
Network interface:
Ethernet 10/100 Base-TX
Network protocols
TCP/IP (compatible with IPv6)
• Device communication : SNMP, SNMPv3, HTTP
• SyncThru™ Admin 5 server & client communication : HTTP, HTTPS
ITEMS SERVER SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS CLIENT SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Hardware • Pentinum III processor 1.0 GHz or faster
• 1 GB RAM
• 1 GB free disk space for application
• For thousands of devices:
Pentium 4 processor, 2GHz or faster, 2 GB of
RAM or more, and a seperated server with
SQL server installed are highly recommended.
20 GB free disk space is recommended for
SQL Server
Client computers do not require any software to
be installed. To work with SyncThru™ Admin 5, a
web browser that SyncThru™ Admin 5 supports
must be installed on the client computers.
