PERSONAL COMPUTER SPECIFICATIONS
Minimum Required Specifications Recommended by Portatree.
Top of the line computers not required.
• IBM Compatible Personal Computer (Will NOT work with a Mac)
• Windows XP Home or Pro Edition – Preferred. Windows 7 will require manual
setup. Portatree will provide step by step instructions.
o Windows Vista -- Not Supported
o Windows 8 – Not Supported
• Pentium Processor or Higher
• Processor Speed / Clock Speed
o Windows XP – 300 megahertz or Faster
o Windows 7 -- 1Gigahertz or Faster
• Ram Requirements
o Windows XP – 512 meg Minimum
o Windows 7 – 2 gigabytes minimum
• Flat Panel Monitor (Super VGA), 1024 x 768 Resolution, 22 Inch or larger Monitor
Recommended. We recommend that you visit a Local Retail Outlet to do a Visual
comparison: Some Monitors are very Brilliant and can be seen better in Bright
Sunshine.
• 1 Serial Port -- Recommended to connect to the Portatree Pro-Ultimate Timer or
Eliminator Competition Timer (Com 1). This is preferred over using a USB to
Comport Adaptor.
o If using a USB to Serial adapter – Use the USB to Com Port Adapter
supplied by Portatree.
• 3 USB Ports Available
o An External USB Port Expander is NOT Recommended.
o If your Mouse and Keyboard use a USB connection – There must be at
least 3 Additional USB ports available.
