5. Set the rev limiter. Set for 6000 rpm.
This completes the initial setting of the engine’s timing.
If you are planning to use the HANDHELD Controller to make adjustments while driving, be smart and
have a friend with you to either drive or operate the HANDHELD Controller!
Step 4:
Start vehicle
Turn the key to ON position. Listen to pump -- it should shut down after 2-3 seconds
Check for leaks (again), repair if needed
Start the engine, and let it idle until coolant temperature reaches approximately 150 °F (65.5° C)
Adjust fuel pressure to 45 psi (310 kPa)
When engine temperature reaches 180° F (82° C), adjust idle RPM to 900-1000 rpm
Adjust primary/secondary throttle shafts -- Should move identically
Insert a standard ¼”-20 air cleaner shaft into throttle body
Install air cleaner and check for hood clearance
Step 5:
SETUP ADVANCED SETTINGS
The final step will use the Advanced Setup screens on the HANDHELD. These screens are designed to
provide fine tuning of the Qfi ECU. They provide identical inputs as entering them into the system with
the laptop DASHBOARD program.
Each screen value pictured is the factory default setting.
