LUN Security XP Extension for the XP128/XP1024/XP10000/XP12000
• - (hyphen): No mode is assigned by RAID Manager to the logical volume.
You cannot use LUN Security XP Extension to change modes. Use RAID Manager to change modes.
• LBA: If the logical volume is mapped to an external volume, this column displays the external
volume’s capacity (for example, the connected external volume’s capacity). If the logical volume is
not mapped to an external volume, this column displays a hyphen (-).
If two or more volumes are combined into a LUSE volume, this column displays the top LDEV, and
does not display other LDEVs (other volumes) combined into the LUSE volume. For example, if
volumes 03, 04, and 05 in CU image 01 are combined into a LUSE volume, the volume list
displays volume 03, but does not display volumes 04 and 05. To view all logical volumes forming a
LUSE volume, see ”

•
Operation: Operation’s target or name. When no operation is performed, No Operation appears.
•
Logical volumes’ icons: Logical volume’s icon in the lower right of Operation. Text to the right of an icon
indicates an access attribute and includes the total number of logical volumes in the volume list. If VMA
is set for the volume, VMA appears before the access attribute. For example, when there is one Read
Only volume with VMA in the volume list, VMA Read Only:1 appears.
•
Expiration Lock: A switch for implementing stronger protection on logical volumes. If this setting is ON,
attempts to change the access attribute to Read/Write fail even after the retention term. The Expiration
button says OFF -> ON when the setting is OFF and ON -> OFF when it is ON. The default is OFF.
NOTE:
When viewing an XP10000/XP12000, the button says Disable -> Enable and Enable ->
Disable.
NOTE:
Expiration Lock can only be turned on and off with Command View XP or XP Remote Web
Console.

•
Unlimited: Extends the retention term indefinitely.
•
