2 Preparing for LUSE Operations
This chapter describes the environment you need to prepare in order to operate LUSE.
System Requirements
To operate LUN Expansion (LUSE), you need the following items:
• HP storage system (or simply storage system where applicable hereafter)
• HP StorageWorks XP Remote Web Console computer
• Licensed LUN Expansion software
Note : To use the LUSE function, you need the software called Open Volume Management. Note that
this software is only for open systems.
Preparing to Use LUSE
Before starting a LUSE operation on a selected storage system, make sure that you unmount the
open-system volumes and/or remove the LU paths to the open volumes. For instructions on removing LU
paths, see HP StorageWorks XP24000 LUN Manager User’s Guide.
