Virtual Hermit Configuration
The Virtual HERMIT, in conjunction with the Vented Cable Extender, vented cable, and
the vented Level TROLL Instrument allows you to view real-time, pressure-corrected
data across a well field at one central location. Readings are automatically corrected for
vacuum pressure, which results in more accurate data and eliminates the need to post-
correct data. Because Virtual HERMIT makes it possible to view nearly instantaneous
changes across a well-field, test protocols can be rapidly adjusted if necessary. This
immediacy can reduce the duration of a study, thereby reducing overall project costs.
Installation
1. Position the Vented Cable Extender between the up-hole cable (that connects to
Virtual Hermit) and the down-hole cable (that connects to the instrument). Ensure
that the arrow on the cable extender points up.
2. Ensure that the cable extender is positioned in the well casing so that it will not be
submerged at any time during the project. Do not submerge the cable extender.
