Power Switch Installation
(8)
Install the spacer nut on the power switch to allow
approximately 1/8” gap between the enclosure
and the switch. Refer to Figure 3.
(9)
Insert the switch through the drilled enclosure
hole from the inside, turn the switch body as
shown in Figure 3, and install the switch boot
from the outside. Tighten the boot securely with a
5/8” wrench while holding the switch securely
inside the enclosure.
(10) Ensure that all of the switch connections have
sufficient clearance from the metal battery support
bracket and any other metal objects.
NOTE: The switch orientation must be installed as
shown in Figure 3 to provide the correct ON and
OFF selection direction to match the label.
Wire Connections
Four new wire assemblies are preconnected to the power
switch. The male and female attached connectors are
shown in Figure 5. Refer to Table A and Figure 4 for
wire assembly descriptions.
NOTE: Power Switch wires must be routed as shown in
Figure 4 to allow space for battery removal and
cable entrance fittings.
(11) Ensure that the BAT+ Red wire at the Battery
terminal is disconnected and the Power Switch is
turned OFF.
(12) Disconnect the Black wire connecting power
supply terminal block “L1” to the transformer
terminal #5.
(13) Connect the 11-3/4” Black wire w/female
connector from the power switch to the
transformer terminal # 5.
(14) Connect the 7” Black wire w/male connector
(from the power switch) to the existing Black wire
w/female connector (from the Power Supply
terminal block “L1”).
(15) Connect the 6” Red wire w/male connector (from
the power switch) to the existing Red wire
w/female connector (from PCB 179 BAT+).
(16) Connect the 10-1/2” Red wire w/female connector
(from the power switch) to the Battery positive
male terminal.
(17) Recheck all electrical connections and especially
check to ensure that the Black and Red wire
connections are not crossed at the switch or any
other point.
(18) Turn the Power Switch ON and verify that the
battery back-up is operating correctly by allowing
the front panel displays to turn ON.
(19) Turn the Power Switch OFF and verify that the
front panel displays turn OFF.
(20) Reconnect all AC electrical power to the
Secondary Sensing System controller.
(21) Turn the Power Switch ON and verify that the AC
Power is operating correctly by allowing the front
panel displays to turn ON and the red “POWER”
indicator is OFF.
(22) If either the battery back-up operation OR AC
power operation does not function correctly,
disconnect all AC and battery back-up power,
recheck wiring according to Figure 4, check
battery strength, and repeat steps 17 through 21.
