6. Run a cable the length of the house. See Figure 2.
One end should be connected to the vent machine
and hand-winch; the other should be weighted
with enough weight to keep the cable tight across
its length. If the cable sags in the centers, the vent
doors in the center of the house may never close.
To prevent this, place a pulley on the main cable
above each vent door to support the cable.
7. See drawing on following page for cable
illustration.
8. Tie drop strings above each vent.
9. Run drop strings through a small pulley then
tie to the hole in the center of the handle. The
pulley should be placed about 3 to 4 inches
(7.62 cm to 10.16 cm) above the top-center of
the vent door.
10. Use a hand winch to make sure that all vents
open and shut at the same time. You may
have to adjust the length of the drop strings.

This pulley arrangement used
for 1:2 ratio. This gives higher
speed, but lowers strength.
Note: This ratio should only be
used when your vent machine
has a 15 RPM motor.
This pulley arrangement used
for 1:1 ratio. This gives higher
strength, but lower speed.
NOTE: Although this drawing shows the two methods of arrangement,
ensure that both sides are arranged the same way in your application.
