Operation
Warner Electric MCS-833 and MCS-834 counters are
optional plug-in modules which modify the basic on-off
photo-electric control operation. With the module
installed, the photoelectric control will have a one-shot
output after receiving a presettable number of inputs.
The maximum continuous counting rate will be limited
by the one-shot time and can be expressed by the for-
mula:
Counting rate < Preset count
One-shot time
To maximize the continuous counting rate, adjust the
one-shot time to the minimum acceptable for the appli-
cation.
The mode of operation will be effected by the
“light/dark” switch in the photoelectric control. Objects
are counted as they enter the photoelectric beam
regardless of light or dart operational modes.
Installation
The photoelectric amplifier board is provided with a
connector to accept the counter module. simply insert
the counter, set the desired count, and adjust the one-
shot output potentiometer. A terminal block is provided
for an optional external reset switch. The switch, if
used, should be an SPST, N.O., momentary type. This
switch can reset the counter at any time in the count-
ing cycle.
