Locate a position on the positive lead that allows
a comfortable connection of the diode leadwire
eyelet (figure 1) to one of the four field mounting
screws. Note location of the saddle crimp.
Saddle Crimp
Coil Leadwire
Place the coil leadwire in the groove provided in
the “saddle crimp.”
Do not strip the insulation
from the wire.
Rotate Cap
Over Leadwire
Pinch
Closed
Rotate cap until located over the leadwire and
pinch closed using a pair of pliers.
Note: Do not pound on saddle crimp to pinch
closed.

Failure to follow these
instructions may result in product damage,

to personnel.
Introduction
If the field coil you are replacing includes a diode,
you must follow these instructions carefully. When
in doubt, install the diode assembly anyway.
First, attach the diode leadwire (provided) to the
positive lead of the coil. In most cases, there is
only one lead to chose from.
