Experiment 4: Complete Cycle
Objectives
Observe the Otto cycle operating in reverse and compare the ratio of the (work on the gas)/
(heat out of gas) with the Otto cycle efficiency.
Physical Principles
The ideal Otto cycle models the action of a four-stroke gasoline engine and includes the
strokes shown on the PV diagram below:
