Introduction
Use the PASCO model ME-8973 Collision Bracket for mounting
a force sensor on a track at the proper height for collisions with a
cart. It is compatible with PASCO tracks and small-format force
sensors such as PS-2104 and CI-6746.
The bracket includes two spring bumpers (one weak, one strong)
that can be attached to the force sensor.
Installation
Attach the bracket the track, the force sensor to the bracket, and a
spring bumper to the force sensor as illustrated.
1: Slide tab into T-slot on side of track. 2: Tighten thumbscrew to secure
bracket. 3: Remove thumbscrew and hook from force sensor. 4: Attach
force sensor to bracket. 5: Attach spring bumper to force sensor.
Collision
While recording data from the force sensor, roll a PASCO cart
into the spring bumper. The sensor will measure the force and
impulse of the collision.
Parts Storage
When not in use, the two spring bumpers
(included with the bracket) and the hook
(included with the force sensor) can be
stored as illustrated.
