Additional Experiment Suggestion:
Hanging a Level Sign
Using a set-up similar to that of Experiment 1, hang a rectangular sign board from two dif-
ferent-length strings. Attach the strings to the sign as shown. Adjust the positions of the
Tension Protractors to make the sign is level. Confirm that the two requirements for equi-
librium are satisfied. Predict what would happen if the two unequal length strings were
attached to the upper corners of the sign.
