In a bypass

POLYMETRON flow chambers are designed not to retain air bubbles. To facilitate the extraction of
bubbles, use a minimum flow rate of 20L/h (ideally 60L/h).

Note: The progressive accumulation of bubbles on the surface of the probe reduces the active surface, increases
the cell constant, and leads to an abnormally low conductivity measurement.

Note: The arrows indicate the sample flow direction.

Make sure the NPT fittings of the flow chamber (see

Figure 3

on page 6 for location) are leak free by

adding waterproof material onto the male thread. The recommended waterproof material for each
flow chamber is:

Programming the transmitter

For detailed information regarding transmitter programming, please refer to the user manual
delivered with the transmitter.

Set the measurement type

Make sure that both switches on the conductivity module of the transmitter are correctly configured
on position K (to indicate a 2 electrode probe).

Set the cell constant

On the PROGRAMMING-MEASURE-PROBE menu, set the cell constant value (K) of the probe.
This value is indicated on the probe certificate and is determined with a precision of < 2% in
compliance with standards ASTM D 1125 and ISO7888.

Set the frequency

On the PROGRAMMING-MEASURE-PROBE menu, set the probe frequency in relation to the
conductivity:
