Start-Up
Battery Operation
Open the battery compartment on the back of your spectro-
color
®
and insert the batteries enclosed.
Attention, be sure to place the batteries with the pole
tips in correct direction !
Mains operation: spectro-color
®
comes with a power pack.
Connect it to the mains/charging socket (fig. 3, item 2) of
spectro-color
®
and then plug the power pack into a 230V-
mains socket. Inserted batteries are loaded during mains
operation (normal charging: 14 hours).
Turn spectro-color
®
on:
Press the ON-button to turn spectro-color
®
on (fig. 3, item 1).
Then the program skips to the last display before the automatic turn-off (after about 2
minutes). Now you can measure at once.
For permanent operation we recommend to use powerful Ni-MH rechargeable batteries of at
least 1100mAh (accessories, see chapter E1).
Printer Connection
The optional printer (for accessories, see chapter E1) is connected as follows:
• Connect the interface cable to the printer
• Plug the other end of the interface cable in the RS 232 port of spectro-color
®
and fix it by
twisting carefully
• Connect the printer as described in the operator’s manual.
Connecting the barcode reader
• Turn
spectro-color
®
off.
• Plug the 9-pole D-sub plug of the barcode reader into the socket of spectro-color
®
(fig. 3,
item 4).
