Software overview
The bundled Support CD contains some utilities that you can use to manage your NAS
and back up your data. See the succeeding sections for the descriptions on the utilities
included in the Support CD.

1.5.1 Setup Wizard
Setup Wizard guides you through configuring the basic settings that you need to
configure before you can start using your NAS. See
2.3 Running Setup Wizard for details.
1.5.2 Firmware Restoration
Firmware Restoration is used on an ASUS NAS that fails during its firmware upgrading
process. It uploads the firmware that you specify.
IMPORTANT:
DO NOT use this utility on a working ASUS NAS. Normal firmware upgrades must be done
via the Web GUI. See
3.3.17 Upgrading the firmware for details.
NOTE:
Firmware Restoration can only restore the firmware when your NAS is in the rescue mode.
To enter the rescue mode, follow these steps:
1. Turn off your NAS.
. Press and hold the reset button at the rear side and simultaneously press the power
button to turn on your NAS.
. Release the reset button when the power LED is off the network LED is blinking.
4. From your computer’s desktop, click Start > All Programs > ASUS Utility >
NAS-M25 > Firware Restoration.
